Privacy Policy for Ephemeral Tab
Overview
Ephemeral Tab is a Chrome extension that isolates cookies, cache, and web storage in tabs and websites explicitly selected by the user. We believe privacy is a fundamental right, and our architecture is designed from the ground up to operate without collecting or transmitting any personal data.
Information Processed
The extension may store the following information locally on the user's device:
- Hostnames where the user explicitly enables protection.
- Internal rule identifiers required to apply the protection.
- Temporary tab identifiers and random isolation tokens while Chrome is running.
- The approximate time when a website preference was enabled.
How Information is Used
- Locally stored hostnames are used exclusively to remember the websites where the user requested automatic protection.
- Temporary tab identifiers and isolation tokens are used exclusively to maintain an isolated browsing session inside the selected tab.
Data Transmission and Sharing
Ephemeral Tab operates with absolute data integrity:
- No External Transmission: Does not transmit data to the developer or external servers.
- No Telemetry: Does not use analytics, tracking, or telemetry scripts.
- No Monetization: Does not sell, rent, or share user information.
- No Profiling: Does not use data for advertising, profiling, or behavioral tracking.
- No Remote Code: Does not execute remotely hosted code; all logic is fully packaged locally.
All processing takes place locally on the user's device.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Temporary tab data is deleted immediately when the protected tab or its browsing session ends.
- Remembered website hostnames remain in Chrome's local extension storage until the user disables protection for the associated website or uninstalls the extension.
- Users can instantly remove all stored extension data at any time by uninstalling Ephemeral Tab from
chrome://extensions.
Permissions & Technical Scope

Chrome Web Store Limited Use Disclosure
